Western Togoland successionists Groups have blocked all roads leading to the Volta regions.
According to our sources roads at Sogakope, Atimpoku and Somaya are involved, the Millitary, police and immigration officers are on the ground to maintain calm but the group has since not listened. According to a member of the group, today is the independence day for the Votla region and hence cannot allow people in or out of the Region. The group has set fire across all these roads and chanting wars songs, holding weapons and beating people who are taking videos and pictures.
Currently the Volta regional minister is at a closed door meeting with the security experts to look for the way forward.
