Covid 19- Volta region cases hits 30

The coronavirus pandemic in Ghana is fast spreading like wild fire in the harmattan season across all regions in the country and no one seem to be in control of the situation yet.
Currently, 12 out of the the 16 regions in the country have felt the effect of the pandemic and without being controlled, it is anticipated that all regions are affected before a vaccine is arrived at in the future

Update from a press release on 1st may, 2020

The Volta region has recorded 19 positive cases from the enhanced contact tracing exercise as at 1st May, 2020.

Fifteen of the cases were contacts of the 6 quarantined travellers in Aflao who were confirmed positive on the 12th of April.

The sixteenth contact tested positive is a 71-year old woman who is closely assosiated with a case confirmed in Ho.

3 confirmed cases were recorded in Hohoe on the 12th of April 2020.

One additional case detcted from routine survellance is a 45 year old man who returned to Kpando from Accra on the 2oth of April, 2020.

Summing all this cases together bring Volta regions cases to 30 as at 1st May, 2020.
